"Open" Hours

Recently I visited a local store a few minutes before closing. I hate being "that" person, but it happens. I went to the door, put my hand on the handle, pulled and nothing. It was already locked! I could see people inside, still shopping. I could see staff at the cash, actively avoiding me, as I politely knocked on the door AND called.

If a store publishes their hours to be 9am to 5pm, or whatever they are, the doors should be open between those designated times. 5:01pm and locked? I get it. 4:57pm and locked? Nope. Not ok.

I respect and understand completely that we all have lives and jobs, and everyone has moments of thinking their issue is more important than someone else's...but expecting a store to be open during their published hours is pretty basic.

I hate to think we have visitors visiting this amazing part of the province and running into these types of issues. It's so not the Nova Scotian way.
