The answers to everything are in nature

Have you ever truly looked at a flower? They're such spectacular, little miracles. They start as this small spec in dirt, and with a little bit of sunshine and water- tada! Something truly amazing grows, changes, and blossoms into a vision of beauty, and sometimes a completely consuming scent of deliciousness.

I never thought I'd be a gardener and I certainly didn't think I'd be so content to stroll through a green house, taking in the sights and learning about the different benefits certain varieties provide. I am so fascinated and appreciative of flowers now, that I can't remember a time when I wasn't.

I love opening the front door and admiring the lavendar that have grown into massive, beautiful plants. I love running my hands over them and breathing in their scent. I even enjoy crouching down to pull out the sneaky little weeds that sprouted over night. I love caring for them and I feel incredibly grateful to have them in my life. They also always remind me of my mom- such a nice bonus.

I love sitting at the table, early morning, with my coffee and noticing all of the fuschias that have opened and watching as the hummingbirds seem to love them just as much as I do.

I love walking through the garden and feeling such awe over how much it has changed in just a day or two. New sprouts, new flowers, new berries to pick. It feels like such bliss to grow and pick your own food! Immense satisfaction.

I have come to see that it is most certainly the simple, natural things in life that mean the most to me. They bring me the most joy and the most peace. Hands in the dirt, thoughtfully planting new life- it is the most grounding. That and beach walking, of course.

We all work so hard to find joy and to be "happy". The truth of the matter is that the more grateful we are for the simple things, the more time we spend in nature, the more negativity we remove, the happier we will be. It's about removing things from our lives and unbecoming to be our trueselves. No supply of goods or services can ever bring us joy the way being grateful for what we already have can.

Take time to notice the simple beauty and miraculous blossom of a flower. Breathe them in and be grateful. The answers to everything are in nature.
